Conservation Easement Workshop
Jul 30, 2008
Conservation Easements 101 is a thorough introduction to conservation easements from the landowner's perspective. Topics include:
-
What is a conservation easement and how does it work
-
How to determine if a conservation easement is appropriate
-
How to analyze the income, estate, capital gain and other tax benefits
-
How to structure the transaction
Conservation easements can help land owners keep family lands in family hands. Ownership of the land stays with the property owner, and some restrictions are placed on the future development of the property, so the land is preserved as the owner desires.
Speakers: Attorney Thomas Hall of Braun and Associates focuses his law practice in areas of conservation easements, estate planning, probate, real estate and non-profit corporation law. Easement donors will also be on hand to share their experience of saving their land.
