Landscaping for Birds and Butterflies

Oct 9, 2008

Local native plant and landscape experts Patty Leslie Pasztor and Janis Merritt will show us how to create habitat for wildlife and invite butterflies and hummingbirds to the garden. We'll visit Kip Kiphart's property near Boerne and see first-hand native and adapted plants best suited for the Hill Country. A registered Monarch Way-Station, this garden includes nectar plants as well as larval food plants for the immature butterflies. Discussion will include planting & maintenance, restoring understory, coping with white-tailed deer and water conservation measures including the creation of contour berms.

Carpool leaves promptly at 8:30.
