Join us for a deep look into the mystery and beauty of Cibolo’s lands, waters, woodlands and wildlife. Led by Cibolo’s very own Land Steward and Woodland master David Touchon, these easy, investigative, and enriching walks will explore a different topic/niche that connects the Hill Country landscape. Bring your snacks or lunch for this wonderful behind the scenes experience along with newfound friends! Educators can receive continuing education credit.

8/3 Spring to Creek

Come along for this moderate leg stretching event to gain a better understanding Texas Hill Country hydrology. Visit the Herff spring and trace its beginnings through the Cibolo Prairie to the confluence of the Cibolo Creek. Learn how to manage water flow through your property while promoting wildland diversity. *Educators Choice 

8/10 Butterflies of the Cibolo

Summer is here, and the Butterflies are plentiful! Learn more about how to attract these valuable pollinators and how to manage your wild scape for these cornerstone species. Identification, Morphology, Habitat and Life Cycle. *Educators Choice 

8/17 Fantastic Forbs

It’s not grass, it’s not woody, it is a forb! Come and cruise the land to learn more about the fantastic forbs! Forbs are an incredibly important component of the wildland system feeding the native fauna which, in turn, promotes the richness of diversity. 

8/24 Home on the Cibolo, the Herff Farm

Please join world renown author and hill country historian, Brent Evans, for this behind-the-scenes look into the historic Herff Farm, house, and property. Step back in time to when Kendall County was small and Boerne had a commuter train!

Each Cibolo Summer Series hike is $10 to attend, and we encourage you to join as many as you’d like!

This series is intended is for adults 18 years and older.

We recommend bringing water, sun protection, bug spray, and comfortable clothing for outdoor activities. Close-toed shoes are required.
