Educational, interactive hikes for adults!

Join us for a deep look into the mystery and beauty of Cibolo’s lands, waters, woodlands and wildlife. Led by Cibolo’s very own Land Steward and Woodland master David Touchon, these easy, investigative, and enriching walks will explore a different topic/niche that connects the Hill Country landscape. Bring your snacks or lunch for this wonderful behind the scenes experience along with newfound friends! Educators can receive continuing education credit.


Cibolo Summer Series Hikes for July

7/6  Sensory Awareness Trail

This trail is a deep dive into the human five senses. This trail experience will elevate your communication skills as well as fine tuning your woodland situational awareness. Experiential education at its finest. *Educators Choice

7/13 Healthy Creek/Healthy land

Learn how to sample the health of the Creekside community and evaluate the richness of diversity. Basic Limnology in nature with hands on collection of macro and micro invertebrates. Prepare yourself for some mud and interesting critters. *Educators Choice

7/20 Summer Bird

Walking the woodlands is one thing but knowing what is making that noise is another. Join some of the local experts on how to “bird by ear” and silhouette identification. Learn more about the establishment of nesting boxes and all of the common residents of Texas Hill country. Binoculars included, birds free.

7/27 Trees of the Cibolo

Common trees of the Cibolo riparian zone and beyond. Learn more about the woodlands of Boerne and the richness of diversity! Field identification, Pioneer usage, Holistic usage and identification factoids abound! *Educators Choice

Each Cibolo Summer Series hike is $10 to attend, and we encourage you to join as many as you’d like!

We recommend bringing water, sun protection, bug spray, and comfortable clothing for outdoor activities including close-toed shoes.
