Attend our workshop over Zoom on Dec. 2nd before attending the in-person demonstration on Dec. 4th.

Fire is a valuable land management tool that provides both ecological and financial benefits. When conducted properly, prescribed burning is safe and beneficial for wildlife and brush control. Experts in prescribed burning will provide you with everything you need to know to conduct a prescribed burn, including:

  • Weather
  • Liability
  • Equipment
  • Hazards and Firebreaks
  • Planning and Conducting a Burn

ZOOM CLASS THURSDAY, DECEMBER 2nd 1pm to 5pm.

Will include presentations with:

Fire In Rangeland Ecology with Rufus Stephens

Preparing for a Burn with Wesley Evans

Weather Assessments for Fire and Prescribed Fire Equipment with Dusty Bruns

Plus, resources for program participants.

*This workshop will be recorded for program participants future use.

 

DEMONSTRATION BURN SATURDAY DECEMBER 4th, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

The demonstration burn will be in-person at the Cibolo Nature Center or Herff Farm. The location will be emailed to participants on December at the 3rd Zoom.  (Masks, social distancing and PPE will be required.)
