Volunteer Groups

We welcome volunteers in many ways from individuals to large groups from organizations and businesses.

Whether you are by yourself or with a group, the Cibolo has both short-term and ongoing volunteer opportunities for many interests.

Adult Volunteers

Put your talents, passion, and energy to use at the Cibolo!  No matter the season, adult volunteer opportunities are available in gardening, environmental stewardship, special events, programs and more.

Community Organization Volunteers

Volunteer opportunities are available for any community organization with four or more individuals who want to volunteer for a one-time project. This is ideal for community organizations, college organizations, or youth groups. Community organization volunteers often assist with special events and large-scale projects onsite.

Corporate Volunteers

Volunteer opportunities are available for area businesses. Completely customizable, corporate volunteering at the Cibolo gets your employees outdoors, encourages team camaraderie and fosters positive well-being while creating a lasting impact in our community.

Trailblazers

Trailblazers look to engage participants in three main types of activity: citizen science volunteer efforts, general volunteer efforts, and fun team-building activities.  Cibolo Center for Conservation’s volunteer program takes place in Boerne, TX on our two campuses, the Cibolo Nature Center and Herff Farm—160 acres and many ecosystems filled with majestic beauty. This is a volunteer position that provides on-the-job training. All volunteer hours can be applied to service-learning requirements for school, scouts, or other organizations.

Apply to become a Trailblazer!

The Cibolo is seeking energetic and passionate teenage volunteers for our Trailblazers volunteer program, at the region’s most treasured Center for Conservation.

More Information

If I am a new volunteer, how can I view upcoming volunteer opportunities and manage my volunteer hours?

We are happy to have you or your group as part of our volunteering community! The Cibolo uses GivePulse to manage our volunteer calendar and record volunteer hours. However, due to the wide range of volunteer opportunities available, all new volunteers are encouraged to contact Stephanie Regets at stephanie@cibolo.org before creating a GivePulse account. We will assist in setting up your account and work with you to ensure you select the volunteer opportunities that are the best fit for your needs and interests. If you are already registered with GivePulse through another organization, we ask that you also contact Amanda prior to signing up for our volunteer opportunities.

The volunteer opportunities listed do not match my skills or interests. Can I still volunteer?

All contributions of time, talents, and energy are welcomed and appreciated! If we have not described a volunteer opportunity that matches your skills or interests, please contact Stephanie Regets, stephanie@cibolo.org.

Can the Cibolo provide verification of volunteer hours for school, work, or other reasons?

Absolutely! You can download an official transcript of your volunteer hours any time through your GivePulse account. If your organization requires something different, our volunteer coordinator will work with you to ensure you receive proper documentation.
